Rough Cut Racing was set up by Ian Brusby to compete in the Honda Formula 4-Stroke Championship, which later became the P1 SuperStock Offshore Powerboat Championship.

The team had a very successful first year with P1 SuperStock in 2010 with two wins out of five race weekends and 3rd in the overall Championship, as well as receiving the Pilots' Pilot award from P1, the Anne Robinson "Best Newcomer to the Sport of Powerboat Racing" from the RYA and the Lymington Challenge Cup.

The 2011 season saw the introduction of the new P1 28SS Panther powerboat and the team were hoping to improve on their successes of the previous year, but a season fraught with DNF's and a DNS saw the team finish in 7th overall in the Championship. When the boat was performing well the team were usually battling it out for a place on the podium and at the event in Plymouth Rough Cut Racing gained 1st place in the first ever match race of the series.

With the 2012 season fast approaching, Rough Cut Racing are looking forward to competing with their new team member and sponsors.
